President Joe Biden is delivering his State of the Union address on Tuesday in what will be his first speech in front of the new GOP House majority.
White House officials have previously said that the president will make the case that his economic plan is working after a recent report showed an ultra-low unemployment rate and the creation of over 500,000 jobs. Biden is also expected to talk about police reform, aid to Ukraine, and immigration.

The guest list for the address is extensive, including Tyre Nichols’s mother and stepfather, Paul Pelosi, Brandon Tsay, Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova, and Bono.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy invited Enes Freedom, who last played in the NBA with the Boston Celtics in 2022, as his personal guest to the State of the Union.
Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) is leading the list of Republicans boycotting the address. She gave her ticket to a retired U.S. colonel who refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
However, the list of those boycotting appears to be down from last year, when over half a dozen GOP members skipped the event. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) heckled Biden during his 2022 address, but it is unknown if they will be present or are planning to conduct similar behavior at the 2023 address.
