…Including, but not limited to, a new URL and name for the blog. I apologize for having no redirect from the old blog/URL. I was given no timetable for the transition. A bummer, most definitely, given the improved traffic of recent. Hopefully, you’ve ended up here by checking me out on Twitter (twitter.com/craigstouffer) or been passed the word.

Back to my actual work, which has me planted in the belly of RFK early this Tuesday as DCU’s training sked was moved up to accommodate it’s trip later today to Kansas City. Speaking of which, did you see the story about Wizards head coach Curt Onalfo’s brush with death prior to last week’s Thursday night game on ESPN2? Harrowing.
What else is up with DCU? Well, By now, you may have seen that Jaime Moreno was named MLS player of the week. No surprise there. The big question this morning is who will be in the traveling party to Missouri/Kansas. Brandon Barklage, who was not in the 18 last weekend, told me he’s in, and Avery John also seems likely to see his first minutes with the team tomorrow or this weekend.
Meanwhile, I expect to hear from St. Louis Athletica today on the status of Daniela’s knee, and I voted for the Freedom’s Sonia Bompastor as player of the week — we’ll see if she gets it.
Also, some minor league soccer news that somehow was relegated to purgatory yesterday: DCU reserves John DiRaimondo played 25 minutes and Anthony Peters played two minutes in Harrisburg City’s 2-1 loss at Bermuda last weekend. Peters had an assist on the Islanders’ 90th minute goal to cut the deficit to one.
Crystal Palace beat Charlotte, 2-0, on Friday — goal and assist from rookie Jordan Seabrook — but got hammered (wink, wink) by the Wilmington Hammerheads, 3-0, on Saturday.
Real Maryland lost at Pittsburgh, 2-1. Jeff Carroll had an assist.
Richmond topped Western Mass, 2-0.
Here are your USL-2 standings: 1. Crystal Palace USA (2-1-1, 7pts); 2. Richmond (1-0-2, 5pts); 6. Real Maryland (1-1-0, 3pts)
