The White House said there must be an investigation into the recent discovery of 2,200 unborn children at the home of Dr. Ulrich Klopfer after his Sept. 3 death.

White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere told RealClearPolitics they are “horrified by the news that thousands of fetal remains have been discovered” at Klopfer’s home, saying the findings are reminiscent of “the atrocities of Dr. Kermit Gosnell.”
Gosnell was a Philadelphia-based abortionist who was convicted in 2013 of murdering three infants born alive during botched abortions.
“Murdering thousands of innocent babies is one thing, but preserving and hoarding their bodies like trophies is a new level of sickness,” Deere continued. “The radical left now defends late-term abortions, including infanticide, while President Trump protects our most innocent and vulnerable, and defends the dignity of life. A full investigation is needed to determine whether crimes were committed and if anyone else was involved.”
Vice President Mike Pence also called for an investigation in two tweets Monday, writing, “The horrific discovery of 2,246 fetal remains in abortionist Dr. Klopfer’s Illinois home is appalling & should shock the conscience of every American.”
His actions should be fully & thoroughly investigated, the remains of the unborn must be treated with dignity & respect & this abortionists defenders should be ashamed. We will always stand for the unborn. https://t.co/L6cdjnTS3A

Republican Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb likewise said he supports a federal investigation into Klopfer’s practices.
Klopfer lived in South Bend, Indiana, where Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is mayor. The Buttigieg campaign did not return the Washington Examiner‘s request for comment.
