News of more VIPs attending the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner on April 26 keeps rolling in and Yeas & Nays is there to scoop it up for you.
We’ve learned that CNN is bringing Jay Roach, director of HBO’s upcoming film, “Recount,” a drama about the Florida voting fiasco in the 2000 presidential election. Academy Award nominee Bob Balaban, who plays local superlawyer Ben Ginsberg in “Recount,” is also attending. Oh, and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, too. (As has been previously reported, Washington Redskins quarterback Todd Collins is also a guest of CNN).
Glamour magazine has added some names to its table: Nancy Brinker (founder, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure; chief of protocol of the United States) and Lisa Ling (former host of “The View”; correspondent for “The Oprah Winfrey Show”).
Reuters plays it straight and narrow, inviting as guests Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead, Securities and Exchange Commission member Paul Atkins and Energy Information Administration chief Guy Caruso. Said one Reuterite, jokingly: “Take that, Glamour!”
