Liberals eat their own: U2’s Bono attacked for praising Mike Pence

U2’s Bono is an outspoken liberal who has earned his progressive credentials by being an advocate for AIDS patients in Africa and bashing President Trump.

However, when the U2 frontman met Vice President Mike Pence at the Munich Security Conference and thanked him for supporting AIDS relief in Africa, liberals came after him dubbing him a traitor to their movement.

“Twice on the House floor, you defended that,” Bono said to Pence. “That’s how we know you. And we really appreciate it.”

Pence responded, “It was an extraordinary historic accomplishment, and you played a leading role in carrying it forward.”

The fact that Bono met and tried to have a cordial conversation with the Vice President of the United States rather than screaming “resist” or “he will not divide us” in his face over and over again infuriated liberals on the internet.
