It’s not getting a lot of attention, but the end of the embattled GOP primary fight has led to a broad poll bounce for Mitt Romney that is starting to scare Obama advisors. To name a few:
— CBS News/New York Times has Romney over President Obama by a margin of 46 percent to 43 percent. In their new poll Romney also now leads among women by 2 percent and has seized independents 43 percent to 36 percent.
— Gallup has Romney’s favorability rating jumping from 39 percent in February to 50 percent. Among independents he’s seen an 11 percent rise to 48 percent favorable.
— Rasmussen shows him winning North Carolina, home to the Democratic National Convention, 51 percent to 43 percent.
It has one Democratic advisor telling Secrets, “I’m worried. I keep asking myself what is it that he is saying that would have voters go for him again. They need to find that message.”
