The suspect in a shooting at a Washington grocery store has been taken into custody.
The suspect, identified by police as 39-year-old Aaron Christopher Kelly, was taken into custody late Monday after allegedly opening fire in a Fred Meyer in Richland, Washington, killing at least one person and injuring another.
“Kelly was arrested on Interstate 90 between Sprague and the City of Spokane. … We thank the numerous law enforcement partners that quickly collaborated to apprehend this subject,” the Richland Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Officials were on a manhunt to apprehend a suspect who fled the scene after opening fire at the Richland Fred Meyer on Monday morning. One victim died, and another was hospitalized following the incident.

“The entire Fred Meyer family offers our thoughts, prayers, and support to all affected individuals and families during this difficult time,” a Fred Meyer representative said in an email to the Washington Examiner after the shooting.
The Richland Police Department released a post with an image of Kelly earlier on Monday, declaring him “armed and dangerous.”

Kelly will be transported to Tri-Cities and booked into the Benton County Jail on a charge of murder in the first degree and attempted murder in the first degree, police said.
