Book deal claims Edwards sex tape, remarriage

Despite the fact that South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford and Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., have recently been caught in extramarital affairs, John Edwards has still not escaped the media’s attention.

Former Edwards aide Andrew Young just inked a deal with St. Martin’s Press for a new tell-all book that makes a variety of shocking claims, most notably of an alleged sex tape between the former presidential candidate and Rielle Hunter, his former mistress and mother of a child alleged to be his.

According to the New York Daily News, Young’s book proposal tells the story about what happened to him after famously taking the fall as being the father of Hunter’s daughter (and allowing her to live in his home with his wife and family), retracting the claim, outing Edwards as the father and then relocating to California.

While unpacking in his new home, Young then writes about discovering a videocassette tape of Edwards and Hunter having sexual relations. Apparently Hunter, who was hired by the Edwards campaign to document his trips, decided to film more than just his political positions.

The paper also claims Young’s book will discuss Hunter confiding to him that if Elizabeth Edwards were to pass away from cancer, they planned to get married, going as far as telling him they already picked their wedding song. He also claims President Barack Obama promised Edwards the spot of attorney general if he were not picked as a running mate.

Calls to St. Martin’s Press, Young and his agent David McCormick went unanswered, but we bet Young already has companies from the San Fernando Valley bidding on the tape.
