Suspect in N. Texas shooting spree indicted again

DALLAS (AP) — A North Texas man has been indicted for four additional murders in a suspected day-long shooting spree last year.

Charles Brownlow was indicted Friday in the deaths of his mother, aunt and two other people who lived in the town of Terrell (TEHR’-uhl), east of Dallas.

He already faced a capital murder charge for the death of a store clerk.

Authorities accuse the 36-year-old Brownlow of staging four attacks during the evening of Oct. 28, allegedly killing his aunt, mother, a couple living in a different neighborhood and a store clerk. He then led police on a high-speed chase that ended with his arrest in a creek.

Prosecutors have filed notice that they intend to seek the death penalty.

Brownlow’s attorney, Jack Stoffregen, did not immediately return a phone message.
