Stormy Daniels’ attorney: ’60 Minutes’ interview didn’t tell the whole story on alleged affair with Trump

The attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels in her defamation case against President Trump suggested that an highly watched interview with Daniels on CBS’s “60 Minutes” failed to tell the whole story of the $130,000 hush money payment from Trump’s attorney.

“There’s no question that there’s a whole host of details surrounding the relationship, surrounding the intimidation, surrounding the threats that were left out of the piece,” Michael Avenatti said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

The March interview between Daniels and CBS’s Anderson Cooper, who is also an anchor for CNN, garnered 22 million viewers, the highest rating for the program in 10 years.

Daniels has, among other things, claimed she was threatened by an unidentified man against going public with information regarding an alleged affair with Trump before he was elected president. Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen paid Daniels in the weeks before the 2016 election to block her from discussing the affair.

Avenatti declined to say whether Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has spoken with special counsel Robert Mueller as part of his ongoing investigation into Russian influence in the election.

“Others may not have felt that they could or could not disclose it. But that’s not my position,” Avenatti said. “We’re going to respect the process and we’re not going to be providing details on who in law enforcement we speak to and when.”
