Weather Service: tornado touched down in Maryland

SAVAGE, Md. (AP) — The National Weather Service says a low-end tornado touched down in Howard County and uprooted a tree that fell on an apartment building.

Meteorologists say the EF-0 tornado touched down in near Savage on Wednesday afternoon.

The Weather Service says the tornado uprooted a large tree, which hit an apartment building in Laurel. Fire officials say two people suffered minor injuries and more than a dozen were displaced.
