$125 million: Amount of money “Marvel’s The Avengers” is tracking to make its first weekend, according to Deadline. The film opens May 4. Industry insiders point to the films broad appeal as one of the main reasons it is tracking so high. A number that high would make the film Marvel’s highest grossing movie since the release of “Iron Man 2.”
The movie would need to gross close to $150 million dollars to come close to “The Hunger Games” opening weekend, which saw the film bring in around $152 million dollars.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, and Tom Hiddleston as a group of superheroes teaming up to save the world.
