Trump says he’s done with ‘Morning Joe’

Donald Trump lashed out at the influential MSNBC program “Morning Joe” on Friday morning, after one of the show’s hosts heavily criticized the candidate.

“I don’t watch or do ‘Morning Joe’ anymore,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Small audience, low ratings! I hear Mika [Brzezinski] has gone wild with hate. Joe [Scarborough] is Joe. They lost their way!”

Several minutes before Trump’s tweet, Brzezinski praised likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for a speech she delivered Thursday in which she trashed Trump as an unsteady figure unfit to lead the country’s military and protect its interests abroad.

“I will tell you when I watched that speech, I sat up straight and I listened to every word,” Brzezinski said on the show. “I thought that was incredible. It totally resonated. No one has been able to do this. Everything she said cut. Everything she said was true. Everything she said completely resonated. It was the most devastating attack on Donald Trump that we have seen so far.”

Throughout the GOP primary, Trump was the beneficiary of mostly positive commentary and news coverage of “Morning Joe.” He appeared on the program frequently and granted the hosts an hour-long prime-time town hall interview in February.

During that special, Trump was caught on a hot mic praising Scarborough and Brzezinski’s previous coverage of him like “almost as a legendary figure.”

Trump reacted to Clinton’s speech on Friday by writing on Twitter that she “made up things that I said or believe but have no basis in fact. Not honest!”
