U.S. Chief of Protocol Nancy Brinker has been on the job since only last month, but she’s wasting no time wooing the Fourth Estate.
The founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure invited roughly 50 female members of the media to the Old Executive Building’s Indian Treaty Room for coffee and blueberry bagels Wednesday morning for a little “get to know you.”
VIPs included Rita Braver, Jessica Yellin, Tammy Haddad, Katherine O’Hearn, Betsy Fischer, Maureen Orth and Rebecca Cooper.
Adding a Y chromosome to the mix was the State Department’s Nicholas Burns, who popped his head in to say hello, along with State’s Pam Stevens and first lady Laura Bush’s chief of staff, Anita McBride.
