Florida recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive their payments in the next eight days before the end of July.
SNAP benefits are issued to beneficiaries in Florida from the 1st through the 28th of every month. Florida recipients will receive their SNAP benefits based on a formula depending on the person’s case number. For example, if a recipient’s case number is 00-03, their benefits are available on the first of the month. Those who receive their benefits from the second through the 27th of the month are in groups of three, beginning with 04-06 for the second of the month and ending with 93-95 for the 27th.

The amount of assistance depends on a household’s economic situation. For one person, the maximum benefit is $281 per month, and the average per household member is $180.
To qualify for SNAP, Sunshine State residents’ gross monthly income must be less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty level.
Food stamps in Florida can be used to “buy breads, cereals, fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, poultry, dairy, and plants and seeds to grow food for your household to eat,” according to the state. It cannot be used to purchase items such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco, or pet foods.

Around 2,847,100 Florida residents, or 13% of the state’s population, receive aid from SNAP, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
