Trump wages social media war against ‘crooked’ establishment

Donald Trump announced that he would begin fighting “crooked politicians” on Facebook and Twitter Sunday night, and said Monday he’d start by exposing “lightweight” Sen. Marco Rubio.

“A record no-show in Senate, he is scamming Florida,” Trump tweeted Monday morning. In another tweet, he said the “REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT” shouldn’t be able to ruin his movement by spending on “false ads!”

After a weekend in which Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz each won two states, both Trump and Cruz have suggested that Rubio drop out of the race.

Trump also took aim at Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a former presidential candidate who says Republicans should rally around Sen. Ted Cruz rather than Trump.

“Failed presidential candidate Lindsey Graham should respect me,” Trump tweeted. “I destroyed his run, brought him from 7 pct to 0 pct when he got out. Now nasty!”

After dropping out of the race, Graham endorsed Jeb Bush, one of the Republican candidates who Trump feuded with the most. Although Graham and Bush are now both out of the race, to Trump they symbolize the hoards of Republicans who are attempting to thwart the business mogul’s candidacy.

Trump indicated late Sunday that he’d be using social media to fight other examples of “fraudulent commercials” that push for “crooked politicians.”

Trump has been able to bring thousands of new voters to the polls by railing against the Republican establishment. Mid-way through the primary process, he the leads the field, and has forced the GOP to scramble to find an alternative candidate.
