D.C. United announced the signing of 22-year-old Liberian forward Francis Doe, completing its current roster allotment of 28 players. Doe, who scored two goals in eight appearances last year with New York, has been training with United since last week after being waived by the Red Bulls. He will be eligible for D.C. once he receives his visa. Doe has played professionally in Greece, Ghana and Cameroon, and he represented Liberia in the qualifying rounds of both the 2006 World Cup and 2008 African Cup of Nations.
