Razzies poke at documentaries with double prizes for Trump

Trump was awarded two Razzies for his appearances in two political documentaries, one in Dinseh D’Souza’s “Death of a Nation” and the other in Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 11/9.”

The Golden Raspberry Award, a parody of the Academy Awards started by copywriter John J. B. Wilson, is awarded to the worst appearances in individual films across the industry.

The parody awards deemed the president “worst actor” and awarded “worst screen combo” to him and “his self-perpatuating pettiness.”

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway came in for her share of ribbing, as she also took home one of the parody awards, a “worst supporting actress” prize for her appearance in “Fahrenheit 11/9.”

Melissa McCarthy, who famously played the role of then-White House press secretary Sean Spicer on “Saturday Night Live,” was also awarded a Razzie for worst actress, attributed to her appearance in the Muppet detective caper “The Happytime Murderers.” She was also awarded a redemption award by the organization for her role in “Can You Forgive Me?”, a crime drama.

McCarthy is a nominee for best actress in Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony.

The organization boasts over 1,000 members in over 20 countries and has a one-time membership fee of $40.
