It’s true Mr. Fisk couldn’t possibly top his own lunatic 9/11conspiracy-mongering:
I am increasingly troubled at the inconsistencies in the official narrative of 9/11. It’s not just the obvious non sequiturs: where are the aircraft parts (engines, etc) from the attack on the Pentagon? . . . Why did flight 93’s debris spread over miles when it was supposed to have crashed in one piece in a field? I am talking about scientific issues. If it is true, for example, that kerosene burns at 820C under optimum conditions, how come the steel beams of the twin towers – whose melting point is supposed to be about 1,480C – would snap through at the same time? (They collapsed in 8.1 and 10 seconds.) What about the third tower – the so-called World Trade Centre Building 7 (or the Salmon Brothers Building) – which collapsed in 6.6 seconds in its own footprint at 5.20pm on 11 September? Why did it so neatly fall to the ground when no aircraft had hit it?
Or his noxious ravings about Israel:
[S]cientific evidence gathered from at least two bomb craters in Khiam and At-Tiri, the scene of fierce fighting between Hizbollah guerrillas and Israeli troops last July and August, suggests that uranium-based munitions may now also be included in Israel’s weapons inventory–and were used against targets in Lebanon. Anyone who has read the history of Zionism will be aware that its aim was to dispossess the Arabs and take over Palestine. Why else are Zionists continuing to steal Arab land for Jews, and Jews only, against all international law? Who for a moment can contradict that this defies everyone’s interpretation of international law except its own?
But it sure is fun to find him, responding to a report issued yesterday by BBC management acknowledging a bias against Israel in its Middle East reportage, ranting that the BBC has become a “mouthpiece for the Israel Lobby,” and offering this suggestion:
Well I can certainly advise viewers to turn to Sky TV’s infinitely tougher coverage of the Middle East and – I admit I contribute to this particular station – I can recommend the courage with which Al-Jazeera English covers Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian-Israeli war.
Note, also, in addition to the plug for Al-Jazeera’s courage (and his own) Mr. Fisk’s unconscious speaking of the truth: it is a “Palestinian”-Israeli war, which the “Palestinians” have been waging, by terror, for six decades.
