Biden swears in appointees and promises to fire those who treat ‘another colleague with disrespect’

President Biden swore in nearly 1,000 federal appointees on Wednesday, hours after taking the oath of office.

During the virtual ceremony in the White House State Dining Room, he warned the members of his administration to treat their colleagues with respect.

“If you’re ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone — I promise you, I will fire you on the spot,” he said. “Everybody is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity.”

He added, “That’s been missing in a big way the last four years.”
