A Washington state mother admitted to killing her son, wrapping his body in plastic, and disposing the remains in the woods.
Christine D. Catelli, 58, of Spokane, was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree murder with intent to kill after she reported and confessed to disposing of her 35-year-old son’s body. She is booked into the Spokane County Jail, where she remains in custody under a $1.5 million total bond for both charges.

Catelli was arrested after her brother called the police and said that his sister had confessed to him on Jan. 14 to shooting her son in June 2022. He told authorities that he believed she was telling the truth, as he had not seen his nephew since then.
The suspect had allegedly been under “a lot of stress” and struggled with substance abuse addiction, the brother said to police, but he thought she was doing better, according to a release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Catelli’s brother drove her to the sheriff’s department, where she confirmed to police that she had shot her son multiple times at a residence near W. Jennings Road last June. She then led investigators to the woods near Rock Lake, stating that she had wrapped her son’s body in black plastic and dumped his remains while discarding other pieces of evidence along the way.
