Lawmakers conveyed their shock and horror Sunday after more than a dozen people were killed by a lone gunman at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

“Reports out of Texas are devastating,” House Speaker Paul Ryan wrote on Twitter. “The people of Sutherland Springs need our prayers right now.”
