Yes folks, it’s true. Rep. Barney Frank is in the May issue of Playboy.
The Massachusetts Democrat follows fellow Washingtonian Helen Thomas in doing an in-depth interview with the nudie magazine. In the piece, he discusses an array of issues including how much things have changed since he entered Congress in 1981.
“The climate has gotten meaner, and no one listens to one another,” he says. “Politics has gotten meaner. Polarization isn’t good. It divides us and we don’t come together, which means we can’t effectively solve problems…[Republicans are] inflaming anger, rather than seeking rational solutions…there’s no room for compromise; there’s no room for civil debate.”
He was also frank about the newer membership of the House of Representatives. “I’d say it’s a little less smart,” Frank said. “There are people around now who have been elected to the House who wouldn’t have been in the past.”
The issue hits newsstands Friday.
