Officials are searching for a large reptile swimming around Humboldt Park Lagoon in Chicago after multiple people reported seeing an alligator, crocodile, or other similar reptile cruising around the area pond.
Police and Chicago Animal Care and Control officials were called to Humboldt Park Lagoon on Tuesday after social media posts emerged showing the animal swimming about. In addition, an alligator expert was on the scene, who declined to give his name to the Chicago Tribune but is known as “Alligator Bob.”
Alligator Bob was not able locate the mysterious creature after searching the pond in a canoe. Officials have set out bait traps to catch the animal, but have not yet succeeded in capturing the creature.
