‘SNL’ Election Night watch party: ‘Oh my God, I think America is racist’

Two black guys were the only ones to play it cool on Election Night in a “Saturday Night Live” skit that took place in a mock viewing party held by Hillary Clinton supporters.

“She’ll definitely win the Electoral College for sure. But I guess there’s like a nightmare scenario where he wins the popular vote,” said one white guest, played by Aidy Bryant early on in the skit, which explored the viewers’ reactions to the election results as the Election Night progressed.

“Really? That’s your nightmare scenario, huh?”, said Dave Chappelle, who was hosting “SNL” on Saturday.

“Because of shifting demographics, there might never be another Republican president in this country,” another white guest, played by Beck Bennett, chimed in.

“Word. You ever been around this country before?” replied Chappelle.

As it became increasingly clear that Donald Trump would win, after the Clinton supporters were certain this would be an easy victory for the former secretary of state, a terrified Bryant asked why turnout for Clinton didn’t match that of the presidential elections in 2008 and 2012, which Barack Obama won.

“Maybe because you’re replacing a charismatic 40-year-old black guy with a 70-year-old white woman. That’s like the Knicks replacing Patrick Ewing with Neil Patrick Harris,” said a guest played by comedian Chris Rock, who joined the party late.

“Oh my God, I think America is racist,” said one of the white guests played by Cecily Strong.

“You know I remember my great-grandpa told me something like that. He was like a slave or something, I don’t know,” Chappelle said sarcastically, waving it off.

When Trump was declared the winner, Bennett said solemnly, “This is the most shameful thing America has ever done,” to which Chappelle and Rock lose themselves to a fit of laughter.
