For the first time since 2012, the majority of Americans approve of the job President Obama has done as president.
A Fox News poll released Tuesday evening found 51 percent of registered voters are happy with Obama while 46 percent disapprove.
The last time the public rated him that well was in October 2012, the month before his re-election. Obama climbed three points from 48 percent in May.
Although the June 5-8 poll paints the president in his best light yet, the survey was conducted before Sunday morning’s shooting at an Orlando gay nightclub, the largest mass shooting in U.S. history.
Forty-nine percent of voters believe the Obama administration has made the country weaker. Although that negative number is high, it has come down from 55 percent in June 2014.
Voters have mixed views over whether Obama has helped or hurt the economy. A net 37 percent said Obama helped the economy, 35 percent said he did not and 27 percent said there was no difference. His positive economic numbers are up from January 2014.
