Investigators believe the same culprits are behind four armed bank robberies in central Virginia.
The robberies happened in Sussex and Chesterfield counties in March and April. The FBI said this month that authorities determined the heists are linked based on statements from witnesses and a review of surveillance photographs from the robberies.
One robber entered the bank in the first two heists; two suspects were seen in the other two robberies, according to the FBI. The suspects brandished handguns in all of the incidents, and a shot was fired during one robbery.
The heists occurred:
» March 27 at the Bank of Southside Virginia in Jarratt
» April at the Central Virginia Bank in Midlothian
» April at the BB&T in Wakefield
» April 23 at the Bank of Southside Virginia in Stony Creek; one of the suspects fired his weapon, but no one was injured.
The FBI said Monday there had been no updates in the case.
The robbers have been described as black men in their 20s, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 and having slender builds. The suspects have worn jeans, dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and sunglasses during the heists.
