Not everybody is a fan of Alec Baldwin’s “Saturday Night Live” impression of Donald Trump, including his brother and fellow actor Stephen Baldwin.
“He’s got the voice down really well. I think it’s getting a little too nasty right now. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. … I don’t want to be a party pooper here, but I don’t think it’s very funny,” Stephen Baldwin told CBS News after Wednesday night’s debate in Las Vegas, for which he was on hand.
Baldwin is a rare Hollywood conservative, and said the stakes in the 2016 election were too high to be joking about it.
“I don’t think there’s anything funny about this election,” he continued. “I think it’s very serious, very important. Young people, millennials, undecided voters, everybody’s got 20 days now to really start to do their homework and figure out who they think is gonna lead this country in the direction it needs to be, back on its feet economically. We never had this much stagnation in our economy in God only knows how long. … There’s just no fooling around now.”
Alec Baldwin has made multiple appearances on “Saturday Night Live” over the last few weeks portraying the Republican nominee.
Trump responded to the impression last Sunday after another sketch aired involving Baldwin, saying his portrayal “stinks” and that the media is “rigging” the election in Hillary Clinton’s favor.
Watched Saturday Night Live hit job on me.Time to retire the boring and unfunny show. Alec Baldwin portrayal stinks. Media rigging election!
