Jimmy Kimmel mocks Maria Bartiromo after Trump interview: ‘Auditioning for the position of Donald Trump’s next wife’

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel mocked Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo after her interview with President Trump on Sunday.

“I don’t know what happened to her, but she appears to be auditioning for the position of Donald Trump’s next wife because that was some interview,” Kimmel said on his show Monday, adding that Bartiromo is “always sycophantic” about Trump.

Trump joined Bartiromo on her Fox News show on Sunday in his first interview since the election. During the interview, he spoke about his legal battles regarding voting fraud.

“We don’t have freedom of the press in this country. We have suppression by the press. They suppress,” Trump said. “You can’t have a scandal if nobody reports about it. This is the greatest fraud in the history of our country, from an electoral standpoint.”

At one point, Bartiromo said to Trump: “This is disgusting, and we cannot allow America’s election to be corrupted.”

Kimmel has been an outspoken critic of Trump, saying after the election that he was “relieved” the president was likely on his way out of the White House.

“I’m very happy and relieved that it looks like we’re finally sending this monster back to Mar-a-Lago,” Kimmel said. “But I’m also shocked that it was this close.”

Kimmel added: “It is unimaginable to me that close to half of American voters saw what this man has done to this country over the last four yearsand almost half of us are apparently OK with that. Half of us want to keep it going for four more years. … What more did Trump have to do to show us that he’s insane and not fit to lead this country? I feel like I overestimated the American people. And I underestimated the Village People.”
