A convicted felon in Arlington has been arrested on charges of burying a stash of guns found near Patrick Henry rive and I-66. Rodney Gunsauley, 61, of the 4000 block of N. 17th Street was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility. County police and the FBI are investigating the incident.
The buried guns were found by construction workers on Oct. 12, according to police spokeswoman Crystal Nosal. Nosal said on Sunday she could “not get into specifics” about the contents of the stash but described it as “guns and gun parts.” According to court records, Gunsauley was found guilty in 2001 of obtaining money by false pretenses.
