White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said that reporters should not be surprised at the lack of an event commemorating the second anniversary of Obamacare, given the president’s schedule, and he added that the White House had already offered “a full plate” of activities emphasizing the bill.

“The lack of an event on a day that he announces the World Bank [nomination], and on a day he has other meetings — on a day that he flies to Korea [is understandable],” Carney told reporters during the press briefing today.
“The anniversary is not something the President is going to have an event around, but it is pretty clearly a major accomplishment,” he also said, arguing that the campaign and the Department of Health and Human Services had collectively offered “a pretty full plate of things that we are doing with regards to the affordable care act and specifically to make note of and mark the anniversary of the signing.”
Carney did say “we support those who are marking the anniversary” in support of Obamacare.
