Rapper Ice Cube canceled his appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday following the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd earlier this week.
“I apologize to everyone expecting to see me on Good Morning America today, but after the events in Minnesota with George Floyd I’m in no mood to tell America, good morning,” Ice Cube tweeted on Thursday.

Ice Cube has been outspoken about how he feels police brutality has affected the black community and is one of several celebrities that have spoken out on the death of Floyd.
Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died after a white Minneapolis police officer pinned him to the ground, putting his knee on the back of Floyd’s neck for about nine minutes.
In a widely circulated video, Floyd can be heard pleading with the officer that he was unable to breathe. Four officers involved with Floyd’s detainment, which revolved around a report of forgery, were fired on Tuesday.
Two nights of protests turned violent in Minneapolis, spreading into incidents of looting, arson, and tear gas deployment by law enforcement. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called on the state’s National Guard to help control the chaotic environment.
