New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called President Obama a “petulant child” when it comes to gun control and believes that issue will lead to Democrats’ downfall in November.
“The American people have rejected your agenda and now you’re trying to go around it,” Christie said in the GOP presidential debate Thursday night. “That’s not right, that’s not constitutional and we’re going to kick your rear end out of the White House come this fall.”
Christie said he has not evolved on guns and has always been in favor of gun ownership despite legislation he has signed in New Jersey.
The New Jersey governor pointed out the difference is that he worked with lawmakers to pass legislation, whereas Obama wants to use executive order.
“That’s not a democracy, that’s a dictatorship,” Christie said. “That’s something we should be very concerned about.”
Christie added that it is now easier to get a concealed carry permit in his state due to the legislation he has signed.
He repeated a line he has used on the campaign trail when referring to Obama’s use of executive action on gun control.
“This guy is a petulant child, that’s what he is,” Christie said.
