Antique motorcycles features at Maine museum

OWLS HEAD, Maine (AP) — Antique and vintage motorcycles are taking center stage this weekend in Owls Head.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum’s two-day Vintage Motorcycle Meet and Antique Aeroplane Show kicks off Saturday.

During the event, the museum is showcasing its collection of motorcycles, which includes an 1868 Roper Steam Velocipede, a 1901 Steffy Motorbike, a 1919 Harley Davidson J and a 1938 Indian Scout. The event each year attracts antique custom and racing motorcycles from across northern New England.

There will also be an antique airplane show, with a special appearance on Saturday by two P-51 Mustangs, single-seat fighter planes used during World War II.

Owners of pre-1992 motorcycles who exhibit their motorcycles will be admitted free of charge.

Admission is $12 for adults, with children admitted for free.
