CBS “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert once again used his program to call on President Trump to resign in the wake of his decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey.
“I have something to say here,” he said. “Donald Trump, if you’re watching: First of all, you’re a bad president. Please resign.”
Colbert then joked about rumors that Trump may replace White House press secretary Sean Spicer.
“Second: Please, please, please don’t take Sean Spicer from us. Where am I going to get my daily dose of veiled anger and condescension?” he said.
Colbert, a former political satirist for Comedy Central, has become known for his biting commentary on Trump, recently referring to the president as a “cockholster” for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump shot back in an interview with Time, calling Colbert a “no-talent guy.”
Colbert responded to that in a separate monologue on his show last week, in which he made his initial call for Trump to leave office.
