WHAT: The DOE awarded $141 million in stimulus cash to a program in Wisconsin to weatherize low-income housing.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: A review of the program showed that 12.3 percent of the weatherized homes failed to meet minimum standards. In some areas, one in five homes that participated in the program received substandard weatherization. The program should be fixed before it’s given millions of federal taxpayer dollars.
