A U.S. Border Patrol agent fired at a naked undocumented migrant Wednesday after he threw rocks at the agent on Otay Mountain in San Diego.
The migrant, 29-year-old Miguel Angel Castellanos Martinez of Mexico, was not injured by the gunfire, according to San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Thomas Seiver. The incident occurred after agent K. Ruck discovered Castellanos nude around 7 a.m., Seiver said in a release.

Upon seeing the agent, the nude migrant began to hurl rocks, with more than one striking Ruck in the head and face, according to federal court documents filed Thursday. Ruck demanded Castellanos show his hands, but the migrant continued to throw rocks, the documents read.
The agent fired his weapon twice, and Castellanos was not hit, according to the documents. Ruck struck the migrant to place him in custody but could not place the migrant in handcuffs.
As he was detained, Castellanos struck another agent and reportedly kicked Ruck, Seiver said.
Both Castellanos and Ruck were taken to a hospital for inspection and treated for injuries, he said.
Castellanos was deported from Texas to Mexico in 2017 but said he was desperate to return after living in Tijuana, a report stated. He admitted he threw the rocks, but no explanation has been offered for his nudity, according to court documents.
