Emails show green group’s influence on EPA coal rule

Emails between Environmental Protection Agency officials and the Sierra Club make clear the agency has been speaking with a forked tongue about an experimental coal emissions technology.

Agency officials say the technology — called “carbon capture and storage” — is ready now for commercial applications to reduce carbon emissions from electrical power generating plants fueled by coal.
