Comedian Samantha Bee apologized to Ivanka Trump on Thursday after facing backlash for a vulgar comment she made about President Trump’s eldest daughter.
“I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night,” Bee said. “It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.”

During her TBS show “Full Frontal” on Wednesday night, Bee called Trump, adviser to the president, a “feckless c–t.”
She went on to tell Trump to “put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to fucking stop it.”
In a statement, TBS said it regrets that such language was aired on the show.
“Samantha Bee has taken the right action in apologizing for the vile and inappropriate language she used about Ivanka Trump last night. Those words should not have been aired. It was our mistake too, and we regret it,” the network said.

Bee’s comment came in response to a photo Trump posted of she and her 2-year-old son, which was subject to backlash because it was posted at the same time critics of her father’s administration were bringing attention to a policy that separated illegal immigrant parents from their children.
Not long before the apology, the White House condemned Bee’s remarks, calling them “vile and vicious.”
“The collective silence and its media allies is appalling,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement. “Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executive at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network.”
