Paul Ryan Girl “Let’s Get Fiscal” video spoof goes viral

A spoof political music video based on the 1981 hit song “Physical” by Olivia Newton-John has become an Internet hit.

Released over the weekend from the YouTube account LetsGetFiscalSanity, the video has more than 85,000 views.

It features an attractive young woman who is calling herself “Paul Ryan Girl” garbed in ’80s fitness gear and later a swimsuit dancing and singing to a life-size picture of a shirtless Congressman Ryan about getting “fiscal.”

The video plays off Ryan’s image as a numbers guy, with Paul Ryan Girl singing, “They want us to think you’re bad, but I can do the math.”

The video is a throw back the 2008 presidential campaign’s “Obama girl,” whose videos have been viewed 75 million times, according to her website.

Paul Ryan Girl is later joined in her video by a scruffy-looking parody of the 2007 Obama Girl who says that she “can’t take four more years of this.” Obama girl then rips off her Obama shirt to reveal a pink “I wanna have Paul Ryan’s baby” shirt underneath.

Out of all the presidential election candidates this year, Ryan has seemed to draw the most Internet enthusiasm. Other popular online cameos include a Bad Lip Reading spoof video, the Tumblr blog “Hey Girl, It’s Paul Ryan” and the Young Cons’ “Hey Girl, It’s Paul Ryan” music video. Likewise, one of the top searches for Paul Ryan is “shirtless.”

Those P90X workouts have really been paying off.
