SEE IT: Hospital reports zero active COVID-19 cases for first time in two years

A hospital in Georgia happily reported Wednesday that there were no longer any active cases of COVID-19 inside.

Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, had a 734-day streak of cases previously. It received its first patient on March 7, 2020.


“Memorial Health’s team knows this pandemic isn’t over, but they are celebrating this day and recognizing the great stride made by our community to get to this point,” the hospital said in a statement. “They remind everyone to continue to be diligent about your care and stay safe!”

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center in northeastern South Carolina took to social media Tuesday to make a similar announcement.


“We have been honored to care for our community throughout the pandemic, but it sure feels good to be where we are now!” its caption read.
