On Sunday, the highly anticipated and well-respected Des Moines Register/CNN/Mediacom poll of likely Democratic caucusgoers before Monday’s first-in-the-nation caucuses was scuttled.
Then, the first-in-the-nation caucuses turned out to be a disaster, as results were delayed well into Tuesday after the application used to tabulate and report results from Iowa’s precincts failed. According to reports, the application was created two months prior to the Iowa caucuses and wasn’t tested on a statewide level.
