After weeks of speculation, the Bravo network made it official on Tuesday: Washington will be home to the next iteration of its “Real Housewives” franchise.
As we reported in late March, camera crews had been trolling the city’s fashionable social events hunting for the kind of “talent” that could compete with the “Real Housewives” of Orange County, New York, Atlanta and New Jersey.
“We’re tapping personalities who are among Washington, D.C.’s, influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders — the people who rub elbows with the most prominent people in the country and easily move in the city’s diverse political and social circles,” said Frances Berwick, executive vice president and general manager of Bravo Media, in a release.
So who will they be? Mum’s still the word, but sources have told Yeas & Nays that the prospective stars include Republican lobbyist Edwina Rogers; Susanna Quinn, wife of top Democratic lobbyist Jack Quinn; Andrea Rodgers, founder of the Courage Cup polo matches; Mary Amons, founder of the Labels for Love charity; Deborah Kalkstein, owner of the Contemporaria furniture store in Georgetown; Linda Erkiletian, president of THE Artist Agency, a modeling agency; and Michaele Salahi, co-founder of the America’s Cup of Polo.
All of the women either did not respond to requests for comment or told us they couldn’t speak to the media.
A crew had filmed at the home of GOP lobbyist/hostess Juleanna Glover in late March, but Glover tells us it was not for “Real Houswives” and that she is not involved with the show.
Bethesda-based Half Yard Productions is developing the project for Bravo. No one answered the phones at Half Yard on Tuesday.
