March of the penguin: Monterey Bay bird joins the March for Science

One Monterey Bay Aquarium penguin joined the nationwide March for Science this week.

An African penguin, Rey, was part of the famous California aquarium’s Facebook live video this week, showing the bird marching in with thousands of others as they marched for the cause on Saturday.

“It’s the March of the Penguin for Science with Rey!” the aquarium wrote on its official Facebook page.

March for Science advocates surrounded the penguin, holding signs celebrating the second annual March for Science.

Approximately 5,000 people were expected to participate in the March for Science in Washington D.C., on Saturday, with thousands of others attending sister marches throughout the nation, according to Washington Post.
