NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) — Backers of a Newport Grand plan to add table games are inviting job applicants, weeks before the Nov. 4 election that will determine if voters approve the expansion plan.
The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1gE23RO) that a job fair on Wednesday sought applicants for 350 jobs.
Meaghan McCabe, a spokeswoman for the Newport Grand’s investors, says the jobs will be full-time and will include benefits. She said the investors want to gather a qualified pool of potential employees as quickly as possible.
McCabe said more than 150 people visited the job fair in the first hour.
Jobs were divided by specialties, including gambling, technology, security, banquet services and guest services.
