A woman was rescued from her raft in the Potomac River Sunday morning and taken to a nearby hospital. The woman was paddling on the river with a group and the rescue occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the Old Angler’s Inn, a sharp, rocky turn in the river, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.

Rescuers used boats and a helicopter to help the woman, who was in distress and had minor injuries, according to reports. Her age and details about the cause and nature of her injuries were unavailable Sunday.
