Man sentenced to 45 years for killing girlfriend

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — North Texas prosecutors say a 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for fatally stabbing his teenage girlfriend after she told him she no longer wanted to date him.

Luis Erasmo Torres was sentenced Friday in a Fort Worth court. He must serve at least half his sentence before he’s eligible for parole.
