Support your Pepco employees

I wish to show my support for Pepco and other utility companies. The employees are human beings the same as everyone else. They spend long hours in very bad weather to work hard and carefully to restore our service. The problem I have after living here for 85 years is the fact that, due to the inconvenience, people complain as though all these trees must be removed and lines restored. How long does it take to remove one tree? How many power lines fall on their own? All I saw were knocked down by falling trees.
Who owns the trees? It seem some responsibility should be the tree owners — which I take is government. I would just like to hear more people supporting the efforts.

Your editorial is typical. Rather than give insight or stimulate thought on a complex national issue, it is just another bland unvarnished partisan rant. “Obamacare tax” is, in fact, 100 percent avoidable. It is not a mandatory income tax. It is not levied on everyone. The basic American idea behind “Obamacare tax” is simple: Pay your own health care bill; stop dumping it on people you do not even know. Editor, you can avoid paying a penny of “Obamacare tax” by providing for your own health care cost. That is the genius of “Obamacare tax.” That is the American way. I would have expected The Washington Examiner to extol “Obamacare tax,” not deride it.

Globalization is the real cause of American economic woes
Neither party understands the cause of our unemployment: globalization. Globalization has wrecked our capitalist system by causing permanent unemployment of 14.9 percent (counting work force drop outs). That, in turn, has given rise to a strong socialist movement aimed at replacing markets with total government control of the economy. Only by correcting globalization imbalances can the unemployment problem be fixed, thus ending the socialist movement. That can only be done as Reagan did it in 1983 when he saved Harley Davidson by putting a 50 percent tariff on motorcycle imports. It worked. He said he would do the same to the foreign automakers if they did not begin building here. They did. Simple stuff but nobody “gets it.” Reagan did — which is the real mark of his greatness.
