The Democratic senator who beat Linda McMahon in the 2012 Connecticut Senate race said Thursday that McMahon, President-elect Trump’s pick to run the Small Business Administration, is “unquestionably qualified.”
Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said on MSNBC Thursday that McMahon and her husband, Vince, changed World Wrestling Entertainment from a small regional company into a huge multinational corporation, and that’s to be admired.
“She’s unquestionably qualified for this job. She turned a small business into a big, multinational business, which is what a lot of small businesses want to become,” Murphy said.
He added that McMahon is not as conservative as some of Trump’s other Cabinet picks, which he called a plus.
“She’s bringing some important moderate values to the administration,” he said.
“I think of all the potential picks for the Small Business Administration, Linda McMahon would have been at the top of my list and I’ll be supporting her when she comes to the Senate,” he said.
