Michelle Obama inspires ‘first lady’ bra

It’s your regular push-up bra, with a little presidential oomf.

Lingerie shop Coup de Foudre Lingerie in Washington, D.C., is currently carrying a rather popular “first lady” bra inspired by Michelle Obama, reports The Hill.

The bra is made by a Belgian company called Prima Donna and, according to Coup de Foudre owner Kiersten Ballman, the piece is “inspired by [Michelle Obama’s] sense of elegance and fashion.”

A beautiful royal blue, the bra has a “specialized cup for fuller-busted women,” said Ballman.

First lady fashion never comes at a cheap price, and the same goes for undergarments. The bra will set you back a steep $146.

The piece is also available for sale on Prima Donna’s website in a different color and at a slightly lower price, depending on your cup size.

While a shipment of over 15 of the bras arrived at Coup de Foudre last Thursday, the pieces are selling like crazy.

“They came in yesterday and they’re flying right back out the door,” Ballman told The Hill Friday.

The store told Red Alert Politics that, as of Monday, there were only five left for purchase. A new shipment is on its way.

Ballman cited the bra’s color and fit — not necessarily its presidential inspiration — as the reasons for its popularity.

“The color is amazing,” the store owner explained. “That’s what first catches people’s eye. Washingtonians love blue.”

“It’s offering support in a plunging silhouette in an amazing color,” she continued.
